Calendar in Outlook, Iphone, Android etc.

The basics

Your personal calendar (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, iPhone or iPad calendar app or Google Calendar) displays your reservations in Flightnet as appointments. It is refreshed regularly (normally every 30 minutes).

This works for all calendars that can load Ical V2.0 appointment data.

warning16 * Some calendars (e.g. Google Calendar) ignore the 30 minutes refreshing interval setting and may take much longer to refresh. Unfortunately, there is no way we can change this.

warning16 Please note that using this feature will cause extra internet traffic, something to consider when accessing through a mobile network (e.g. from your Iphone or Ipad).

warning16 Please do not use polling intervals of less than 30 minutes. This might lock your calendar download feature.

How to add Flightnet as a calendar source

You need to tell your calendar app where it can get the calendar data. Flightnet provides this URL, see [Reservations] > [Your reservations] > [Calendar data source]. The URL contains a personal key that identifies your account

It depends on your application how you to add the URL. Check the list below or see the application's manual for details.

Microsoft Outlook 2007 and newer

Open Flightnet on the same desktop where Outlook is installed an click on the link provided on the Flightnet page. This will load the calendar in Outlook.

iPad and iPhone

Open Flightnet on the smartphone and can click on the link provided on the Flightnet page to load the calendar in iCalendar. You can change the calendar details or remove it in the system settings.

Android and Google Calendar

You cannot load the Flightnet data source directly in your smartphone. You rather have to login online in Google, select the calendar and add the calendar URL as an internet calendar. All data in your Google calendar will then be synchronized with your smartphone. Unfortunately, Google ignores the 30 minutes refreshing interval and loads it less frequently, therefore the Flightnet appointments information will lag behind.

Access control

Each user has his own personal unique calendar key as identification. The calendar key is private and should be kept confidential since it allows to see your reservation data.

How to create a new key

A new key can be generated by clicking on [Create new calendar key]. The creation of a new key will render invalid your previous key, so you will have to refresh any previously existing personal calendar links.
